Life Skills - Careers in Trade Work

At Robyne’s Nest, we’re committed to helping students discover real, achievable career pathways—including in the skilled trades.

Recently, our Life Skills class welcomed Taylor Kourkos, a Sound and Communications Electrician with IBEW Local 11, for an information session on careers in trade work and union membership.

Taylor offered a firsthand look at:

  • The journey to becoming a union electrician

  • Training and apprenticeship options

  • Day-to-day realities of the work

  • Resources and next steps for interested students

Students also received informational packets and had the chance to ask candid questions about what a future in the trades can look like.

Thank you to Taylor and IBEW Local 11 for investing in our students and expanding their sense of what’s possible.
